Our bright Idea |
So this guy I hardly knew at all at the time comes to me with this idea to light up his u.v. ink ( August of Skin Candy Ink LLC.) and well his first concept was on track but wasnt practical because of having only a battery operated flash light to work with I had drawn up like ten different Variations of ways to attach this pen light to a tattoo machine. So since I have met Mr. Skin Candy and been working on this gizmo I'd say we became good freinds and have learned a thing or two from him and can't wait to see every Tattoo artist working at Tattoo conventions with one of my lamps fixed to their Tools. I'm sure My Dad would be proud and so would Mr Skin Candy...
So back to the whole bright idea I beet myself up for around a month with drawing and both brainstorming and sleeping or dreaming of it..
So one dayshortly after I'm visiting My compadre Calavera in Pomona Ca. at his studio and well he showed me some cool Iron flame cut out Tattoo machine Frames a buddie of his had made. Which to my surprise My Compa gave me one as a gift that day and to this day I have it running and mounted with one of the original Tattoo Illuminator brackets with a single l.e.d. So after the machines were shown to me it was then that I asked him to take a look at my drawings of which I had with me in my backpack. He took one look at the sheets and says " I would mount this thing from underneath so it doesnt throw off the balance too much".... So there it was right in front of me the whole time like a snake in the grass!..So I then busted out with a pen and started drawing again and came up with a few different styles and well beleive me a whole year of cutting drilling waiting on more metal stock and not to forget the electronics trial and error thing every chance I had. My wife contributed some as well to the project with her idea of cutting out fold over tabs to hold down the wires which originally were held down with zip ties... Then trying to eliminate the whole battery thing is a whole different story which I will take the credit for, Which was really just a matter of common sense.. Man I feel sorry for them research and development guys, they got their work cut out for them that's for sure... So the real credit goes to August, my wife Pamela and my compadre Calavera, me myself I just was the hands on guy with some common sence... SO I got a bunch of theese things available and you can purchase them on my site in the products link of pimpmytattoo.com through our paypal shoppingcart... thanks again, and also any helpful comments or questions I would be glad to answer them......victor de los Angeles jr.
